Endorse SB 805 (Pėrez/Weiner) No Vigilantes Act: expands existing police impersonation laws and requires law enforcement officers to visibly display identification, including their name or badge number, during operations in California. It also prohibits bounty hunters from engaging in any form of immigration enforcement.
Condemn the ruling by on July 4, 2025 by Judge Brian Murphy of Boston to allow the deportation of eight immigrants from Cuba, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, Vietnam to South Sudan, which is known for extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, torture and cases of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment, therefore, constituting as the appeal stated “impermissibly punitive”, pointing to the US Constitution’s barring of “cruel and unusual punishment”.
