Everyone is welcome to the attend this unique summer event. Free to the public. Bring a lawn chair. Come cheer on our budding leaders!
A special event designed to inspire young people in civic engagement. The purpose of this event is to promote interest in politics and civic engagement among young people and inspire them to consider running for office in the future. It will give students the opportunity to express their beliefs openly, practice persuasive writing and inspire their community through public speaking.
Over a dozen middle and high schoolers have jumped at this opportunity: Contestants come from Alhambra, Arcadia, Altadena, Cerritos, Northridge, Sun Valley, Tarzana, Temple City, Sierra Madre, Pasadena.
4-Judge Panel: Contestants will be judged by four local city council members: Sierra Madre Mayor Pro Tem Kristine Lowe, Pasadena City Council Member Jason Lyon, Alhambra City Council Member Adele Andrade-Stadler, and Arcadia City Council Member Paul Cheng.
